And the Winner Is...
(Read on to Find Out)
A funny thing happened when I announced the contest for a signed copy of Already Forgiven. The day before the article went live, my mom posted the first review of Already Forgiven on Amazon. She is subscribed to this Substack blog, and she had no idea that I was about to hold a contest (which makes her support all the more amazing.) At the same time, though, the first thought that echoed loudly through my head was, “Nepotism!” It sure looks suspiciously like she might have had insider information.
I called my mom to tell her that she had jumped the gun and entered a contest that no one knew about and was not even live just yet. We shared a laugh over that. Needless to say, my mom will receive a signed copy. Of course, she’s my mom, so if she wants 100 signed copies she’ll get them. (Um, I mean, Mom, you’re not reading this article, are you?)
In all seriousness, I would like to announce the winner of the contest—and it was a close one! Two amazing people had the book and sprinted into action the moment the contest article hit their inboxes. For the photo finish … Tahera posted the first review!
If you’ve read Already Forgiven you’ll recognize this name. Tahera unknowingly played a key pivotal role in my healing after abortion. Read chapter four of the book to learn how a phone call from Tahera triggered my first real steps toward finding peace with my past. Tahera has been a dear friend of mine ever since we lived next door to each other our first year of college. She generously gave me permission to share this lovely photo of her holding my book.
I mentioned that the contest to win a signed copy of Already Forgiven was a close one. For that reason, I may have decided to award two signed copies of my book. The second signed copy is going to … Mana! Here I am outside my local post office minutes away from mailing the books to the winners.
Amazon reviews for Already Forgiven are at four reviews and counting. (Thank you!) If you’ve read the book and could spare five minutes to add your honest opinion of it, please do. Also, if you’re comfortable sharing a photo of you with the book (print or Kindle), please let me know so that I can feature you in my next post. For anyone who is camera shy, you’re invited to find a way to creatively cover your face. I’d love to see how artistic you can get taking photos with a book. In the comments below, please write, “Feature me!” if you’re willing to send me a photo to use.
